JCA 2019 Workshop Speaker
Founder and Executive Director of New Hope Community Services
As early as 1982, Pastor Andrew Khoo was already juggling a leadership position in church and continuing with his regular job as a maritime engineering technician in the navy. After 13 years, he left his job to focus on being a pastor. In early 2003, a group of ex-offenders approached him to start a programme to help them re-integrate into society.
Andrew founded a voluntary welfare organization called New Hope Community Services (NHCS) which provides transitional shelters for homeless families and individuals in Singapore. NHCS currently has thirty-five staff running programs for the needy and ex-offenders, and managing shelters for about 900++ residents. Jumping Singapore is a social enterprise initiative of NHCS. He and his wife have two grown-up children.
