REFUGEES AND ASYLUM SEEKERS (RAS) PASTOR AT THE VINE COMMUNITY SERVICES LIMITED
Roy Njuabe developed an interest in pastoral ministry serving the refugees and asylum seekers community in Hong Kong for he experienced the challenges of an asylum seeker. Having a background of refugee's experience and been marginalised, he developed a curious mind with regards to pastoral ministry towards the poor, Refugees and Asylum Seekers. Due to this, he decided to take up course that is related to pastoral work. In 2013, he received his degree in Bachelor of Theology in Lutheran Theological seminary Hong Kong. After graduation, he was employed by Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (ELCHK) to work at ELCHK Lutheran Academy as Evangelist and continue to work as a religious support teacher. Roy Njuabe continue his studies in Master of Divinity Clinical counseling at Tyndale Seminary Canada.
In 2015, Roy Njuabe join The Vine Community Services Limited to work as Refugees and asylum seekers Pastor. His activities were many; alongside other NGOs, he participated in raising awareness, social inclusiveness and promote better living conditions for refugees and asylum seekers in Hong Kong. Outside of his work, he also studies other disciplines related to refugee work. In 2017, Roy Njuabe join a team of lawyers, policymakers, border control officers, UNCHR official and practitioners at Oxford University for an international summer school in Refugee and Forced Migration study where he creates connection and gain deeper knowledge about the development of refugees and asylum seekers.
When Roy Njuabe is not preoccupied by work, he enjoys spending his time researching about refugees' work around the world and how international humanitarian agencies responded to the needs of refugees as it is his dream to raise the profile of The Vine Community Services Limited to an international level.
