LEADERSHIP & POWER

Leadership

Strategies

for Change

SPEAKRE NAME: DANIELLE STRICKLAND

  • The Vine Centre: Lower House

  • Tearfund

  • Jesus modeled a leadership style that was radically different from the power structures of the world. Too often, leadership in today's society is shaped by self-interest rather than service, eroding trust and justice in its wake. This workshop explores how Christian leaders today can embody this countercultural leadership model, using power not to dominate but to restore, heal, and uplift the marginalized.

CONFLICT & DISPLACEMENT

Peace & Reconcilitation

SPEAKRE NAME: WINNIE FUNG

  • The Vine Centre: Upper House

  • Cedar Fund

  • Conflict often erupts over religion, ethnicity, or politics—but beneath these surface tensions lie deeper fractures: resource scarcity, cultural divides, and systemic inequality. This session explores how Christians can move beyond headlines to understand the real forces driving conflict. How do we honour the suffering of the oppressed while balancing mercy and truth in our pursuit of justice? And what role must the Church play in healing divisions and leading toward a restored community?

VULNERABILITY & EXPLOITATION

Rewiring Systems from

Exploitation to Restoration

SPEAKRE NAME: PETER WILLIAMS (IJM)

  • MIC: B/F Wesley Chapel (130-150)

  • HOPE International

  • Modern slavery isn’t a far-off crisis—it’s woven into the fabric of our cities, economies, and cultures. Exploitation operates in plain sight, fuelled by systems designed for profit and maintained by societal indifference. Drawing from real-world stories of those who have moved from bondage to freedom, this session explores how deeply embedded these injustices are. Participants will be invited into a greater understanding of an often-overlooked cause of trafficking: the traffickers themselves – an inquiry that leads to great reason to hope for rapid change and reform. As some nations begin to take steps toward reform, we’ll consider what it takes to shift from complicity to compassion, from apathy to action—from darkness to dawn.

BROKEN GENERATION

Restoring Generations:

From Passion to being

Intentionally Strategic

SPEAKRE NAME: ROBERT GLOVER & DAVID LIAO

  • MIC: 5/F Fellowship Hall (150-180)

  • Care for Children

  • This session explores how Spirit-led, strategic leadership can bring lasting solutions to broken generations. Drawing on Care for Children’s work and insights from both childcare and marketplace contexts, we’ll examine how aligning passion with God’s wisdom opens pathways to generational transformation.

Central to this is Attachment Theory—a powerful framework that reveals how secure, loving relationships are essential for healthy child development and strong families. When leaders understand and apply this, they create environments that heal trauma and restore dignity.

Together, we’ll reflect on what it means to move beyond good intentions toward initiatives that embody Jesus: servant-hearted, Spirit-led, and strategically wise—doing not just more, but what truly matters, in ways that restore families and communities for generations to come.

JUSTICE & LIFESTYLE

Compassion International

SPEAKRE NAME: DR. RODEL LASCO

  • MIC: 6/F Comunity hall (240)

  • Compassion International

  • Rather than merely seeing nature as something to protect or conserve, what if we viewed it as a sacred companion in our discipleship? Scripture tells us that creation reveals the glory of God (Psalm 19), and yet our fast-paced, consumption-driven lifestyles often numb us to its voice. This session explores how Christians can reorient their posture towards the natural world—not as a resource to extract or even a problem to fix, but as a reflection of God’s character that restores, teaches, and disciples us in return.
